Agency for National Human Resource Development
The Agency for National Human Resource Development (ANHRD) came into existence on the 1st of January 2014 after the National Assembly approved its ACT. The new Agency was created following agreement to restructure the National Human Resource Development Council (NHRDC) to enable it to improve on services and to take on new functions. The NHRDC itself was established in 2006 with the main task of promoting Human Resource Development in the country. NHRDC has seen three Chief Executive Officers during its existence and the current CEO has remained with the Council during the transition to its current Agency state.
With the change in name, the Agency now has the responsibility of implementing government policies in relation to HR Development; advising and supporting all concerned parties, public and private alike on HRD related matters; and recommending HRD initiatives to relevant parties in line with national needs.
